The townspeople knew her as Ma Sara, the apanthropy short middle-aged quirky woman who lived alone on the barren side of town. This morning she stood on the stoop of her white two-story colonial home, vigorously shaking her area rug to remove loose debris. The sun was reaching its peak as she squinted and looked askance at the receding line of people making their way to the steeple church set upon the hill. Every weekend, they passed by her house in their Sunday best, smiling and waiving in their grandiose demeanor. However, she knew better, she knew that the spurious greetings were just mocking in nature. After a welter of sermons and hymnals at the steeple church, they would once again transverse along the sandy path in front of her house that led back to town.
Each interaction between her and these individuals, while she visited the Pharm and Feed store always ended in a gaffe and astonishment. These encounters became a regale for the townspeople to recount verbosely.
